51:1 The Lord says, “I will cause a destructive wind to blow against Babylon and the people who inhabit Babylonia.

The Hebrew for “the people who inhabit” is לֵ֣ב קָמָ֑י (lab kami), meaning those who “raise up their heart (or intellect) to oppose.” God will raise up an army of sheep Gentiles to oppose the goat Gentiles who will set their hearts against God. Jerusalem is God’s city. Babylon is Satan’s city. Babylon “is the mother of harlots” who brought idolatry into the world. The mystery religious system of Nimrod started at the Tower of Babel and spread into all of the languages and cultures of the world. Multiculturalism is nothing but Nimrod's satanic mystery religious system. Babylon has been God’s לֵ֣ב קָמָ֑י (lab kami) ever since the Tower of Babel.

51:2 I will send people to winnow Babylonia like a wind blowing away chaff. They will winnow her and strip her land bare. This will happen when they come against her from every direction, when it is time to destroy her.

When farmers go down to the threshing floor and throw up the wheat and the chaff, then the chaff blows away and the wheat falls to the ground. However, a destructive wind is so strong that it blows away both the wheat and the chaff. The Sheep Gentiles who come against future Babylon will blow away the wheat and the chaff. Everyone and everything in Babylon will be blown away by this destructive wind.

51:3 Do not give her archers time to string their bows or to put on their coats of armor. Do not spare any of her young men. Completely destroy her whole army.

The command to the foreign winnowers is to continually throw the wheat and the chaff into the air and allow it to totally blow away.

51:4 Let them fall slain in the land of Babylonia, mortally wounded in the streets of her cities.

Those who fight in Babylon against the foreign winnowers will experience mortal wounds which will cause their death. As they are dying from their wounds, they will have time to reflect on the decision which they have made. If they accepted the mark of beast, then they will die from their wounds and be sent to hell.

51:5 “For Israel and Judah will not be forsaken by their God, the Lord who rules over all. For the land of Babylonia is full of guilt against the Holy One of Israel.

The Hebrew word for forsaken” is אַלְמָ֨ן (alman)meaning widowed. Israel is the wife of Jehovah. Jehovah is not dead. Therefore, Israel has not been widowed. Therefore, Jehovah will not forsake her. Israel is still guilty of sin, but she is protected by the unconditional covenants. She is protected by her marriage contract to Jehovah.

51:6 Get out of Babylonia quickly, you foreign people. Flee to save your lives. Do not let yourselves be killed because of her sins. For it is time for the Lord to wreak his revenge. He will pay Babylonia back for what she has done.

The foreign people will be the Sheep Gentiles. They will be commanded to leave Babylon. God will destroy Babylon. Anyone who remains in the city will be destroyed. Babylon will violate the Abrahamic Covenant, so she will receive receive the kind-for-kind curse.

51:7 Babylonia had been a gold cup in the Lord’s hand. She had made the whole world drunk. The nations had drunk from the wine of her wrath. So they have all gone mad.

According to Revelation 17-18, Babylon will make the nations drunk with the blood of her martyrs. This drunkenness will cause the Gentile nations to act in an insane way. They will worship demons and kill the Jews and saints.

51:8 But suddenly Babylonia will fall and be destroyed. Cry out in mourning over it! Get medicine for her wounds! Perhaps she can be healed!

The political leaders, business leaders, and transporters will make a fortune on Babylon, because she will become the economic capital of the world. When she is mortally wounded and dying, then the  Gentile nations will attempt to save Babylonwith medicine, hoping that she can be healed.

51:9 Foreigners living there will say, ‘We tried to heal her, but she could not be healed. Let’s leave Babylonia and each go back to his own country. For judgment on her will be vast in its proportions. It will be like it is piled up to heaven, stacked up into the clouds.’

These Gentile foreigners will quickly understand that Babylon’s wounds are fatal. They will choose to leave the city and return to their own nations. They will realize that these judgments came from God.

51:10 The exiles from Judah will say, ‘The Lord has brought about a great deliverance for us! Come on, let’s go and proclaim in Zion what the Lord our God has done!’

The response of the Jews living in Babylon is that they will decide to go to Jerusalem and tell everyone what happened to the capital of the Antichrist. The destruction of Babylon will cause many of these Jews to become believers. They will take the message of the Lord Jesus Vhrist back to Israel in an attempt to evangelize the Jewish unbelievers in Jerusalem.

51:11 “Sharpen your arrows! Fill your quivers! The Lord will arouse a spirit of hostility in the kings of Media. For he intends to destroy Babylonia. For that is how the Lord will get his revenge— how he will get his revenge for the Babylonians’ destruction of his temple.

So far, the nation from the north who will lead the confederacy against the Antichrist has not been identified. In verses 11-14, the leader and the confederate nations are revealed. The leader of the confederacy will be the Medes. The Medes are the Persians who are currently living in modern Iraq, Iran, and Turkey. This means there will be a mass conversion of Muslim Persians.

Since the Medes and Persians led the first attack against historical Babylon, many expositors falsely teach that this prophecy refers to the destruction of historical Babylon by the Medes and Persians in 536 B.C. However, this is simply not the case for several reasons. First, the kings of Media are plural and not singular. Second, the Medes and Persians did not completely destroy Babylon. Third, people and animals continued to live in the city. Fourth, Babylon has never been a continual burning land. Fifth, demons have not been imprisoned in the land. Sixth, people still walk through the city, praising it instead of hissing at it.

The Medes had a minor role in conquering the historical Babylon. They will have a major role in destroying the future Babylon.

The Babylonians destroyed the temple in 586 B.C. God will patiently wait for centuries to gain His revenge. His revenge is that He will completely destroy the city of Babylon at the end of the Great Tribulation, making it an eternal desolated and continually burning city with no human or animal inhabitants. Only demons will dwell there.

51:12 Give the signal to attack Babylon’s wall! Bring more guards! Post them all around the city! Put men in ambush! For the Lord will do what he has planned. He will do what he said he would do to the people of Babylon.

God will give a second command to attack the city. The combined armies, led by the Persian Medes, will ambush Babylon in a surprise attack. This attack was planned by God before the foundations of the world were created.

51:13 “You who live along the rivers of Babylon, the time of your end has come. You who are rich in plundered treasure, it is time for your lives to be cut off.

Babylonian mythology believed that the city was built upon the Great Subterranean ocean. Many man-made canals were built and connected to the Euphrates River. These connected canals made the city look like it was sitting on many waters.

Babylon will once again become the economic center of the world during the Great Tribulation. Wall Street will move to Babylon. All of those who refuse to leave the city because of their plunder will be killed.

51:14 The Lord who rules over all has solemnly sworn, ‘I will fill your land with enemy soldiers. They will swarm over it like locusts. They will raise up shouts of victory over it.’

Jehovah swears by His own name. He will fill the land with foreign soldiers who will attack the city of Babylon like locusts. The question is, if all of the nations of the world belong to the Antichrist, then where do these foreign soldiers come from?

All of the nations will be serving the Antichrist. He will establish political and military leaders in every nation. However, there will be sheep and goat Gentiles in every nation. The sheep will not take the mark of the beast. They will not be able to buy or sell. They will combine and resist the Antichrist. There will be like pockets of guerrilla warfare soldiers in every city who will combine under the leadership of the future Median general to fight against the Antichrist.

The goats are those who follow the Antichrist. They will take the mark of the beast and be damned forever.

51:15 He is the one who by his power made the earth. He is the one who by his wisdom fixed the world in place, by his understanding he spread out the heavens.

Verses 15-19 record the greatness of Jehovah. He is omnipotent, because He created the earth. He is omniscient, because His wisdom fixed the world in place. He is omniscient, because He has the understanding to spread out the heavens.

51:16 When his voice thunders, the waters in the heavens roar. He makes the clouds rise from the far-off horizons. He makes the lightning flash out in the midst of the rain. He unleashes the wind from the places where he stores it.

God is sovereign over all of His creation. The universe runs like a clock, because God is in control. Evolutionists insult God when they call His clockwork creation a “random variation of natural selection.”

51:17 All idolaters will prove to be stupid and ignorant. Every goldsmith will be disgraced by the idol he made. For the image he forges is merely a sham. There is no breath in any of those idols.

God created the universe with clockwork precision. Idol makers are charlatans. They create an idol that can do nothing, call it a god, and sell it to ignorant, foolish, and superstitious people at a high price. There is no breath in these idols. These idols are nothing but melted metal sold to those who are biblically ignorant.

51:18 They are worthless, objects to be ridiculed. When the time comes to punish them, they will be destroyed.

Idols are nothing but emptiness. They are to be ridiculed. All of the idols will be destroyed in Babylon by the northern confederacy. The false demonic gods will not be able to save themselves.

51:19 The Lord, who is the portion of the descendants of Jacob, is not like them. For he is the one who created everything, including the people of Israel whom he claims as his own. He is known as the Lord who rules over all.

God is the portion of Jacob. God is different from idols. Idols are breathless, empty, and useless. God is the one who created everything, including the people in Israel whom God claims as His own.

The people of Israel are unique in many ways. They were chosen by God to lead all nations back to Him. They were chosen to bring the Messiah into the world. They were chosen to receive the covenants. They were chosen to preserve the Scriptures. They were chosen to become leaders of the world.

51:20 “Babylon, you are my war club, my weapon for battle. I used you to smash nations. I used you to destroy kingdoms.

Babylon was the shattering hammer of God. He was the battle ax that God used against other nations. God used this battle ax to smash nations and kingdoms who had rebelled against God.

51:21 I used you to smash horses and their riders. I used you to smash chariots and their drivers.

God used this battle ax to destroy armies of godless nations.

51:22 I used you to smash men and women. I used you to smash old men and young men. I used you to smash young men and young women.

God used his battle ax to smash populations of godless nations. There was no class distinction between rich and poor, male and female, or young and old.

51:23 I used you to smash shepherds and their flocks. I used you to smash farmers and their teams of oxen. I used you to smash governors and leaders.”

God used his battle ax to smash different labor classes and government officials.

51:24 “But I will repay Babylon and all who live in Babylonia for all the wicked things they did in Zion right before the eyes of you Judeans,” says the Lord.

The shattering hammer will be shattered because of her treatment of the Jews. They shattered the Jews, so now the hammer will be shattered. The shattering hammer will receive the curses of the Abrahamic Covenant.

51:25 The Lord says, “Beware! I am opposed to you, Babylon! You are like a destructive mountain that destroys all the earth. I will unleash my power against you; I will roll you off the cliffs and make you like a burned-out mountain.

Mountains are often used in Scripture as a symbol of a kingdom. The Kingdom of Babylon will become a continual burning city throughout the Millennial Kingdom. The historical Babylon was never destroyed and never consumed continually by fire.

51:26 No one will use any of your stones as a cornerstone. No one will use any of them in the foundation of his house. For you will lie desolate forever,” says the Lord.

Babylon will be so completely destroyed, that the stones will be unusable for foundation stones or corner stones of new construction. Usually, when ancient cities were destroyed, there were still many stones which could be used for reconstruction of new building projects.

51:27 “Raise up battle flags throughout the lands. Sound the trumpets calling the nations to do battle. Prepare the nations to do battle against Babylonia. Call for these kingdoms to attack her: Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz. Appoint a commander to lead the attack. Send horses against her like a swarm of locusts.

God will make a call to the sheep soldiers from many nations to combine and go to battle against Babylon. Ararat will be the sheep guerrilla forces from Armenia. Minni will be the guerrilla sheep soldiers from Lake Van and Lake Urmia of the Baltic regions. Ashkenaz will be the sheep guerrilla soldiers from Germany and the Baltic states. The commander will come from the Medes, which are the Persians in Iran, Iraq, and Turkey. These sheep soldiers from many nations will combine and attack Babylon like a combined swarm of locusts.

51:28 Prepare the nations to do battle against her. Prepare the kings of the Medes. Prepare their governors and all their leaders. Prepare all the countries they rule to do battle against her.

The sheep guerrilla forces from all nations will combine and fight the goat soldiers of the Antichrist. In World War II, Hitler controlled France, Poland, and the Netherlands politically, but he still had to fight against pockets of guerrilla fighters in these territories. The Antichrist will have to do the same. The Gentile sheep did not buy into Hitler’s program. Neither will they buy into the Antichrist’s program.

51:29 The earth will tremble and writhe in agony. For the Lord will carry out his plan. He plans to make the land of Babylonia a wasteland where no one lives.

After Babylon is destroyed, then those who took the mark of the beast will tremble and writhe in agony. They chose the wrong side. The angels warned them not to take the mark of the beast, or they would be eternally lost. After Babylon is destroyed, then they will realize their eternal destiny.

51:30 The soldiers of Babylonia will stop fighting. They will remain in their fortified cities. They will lose their strength to do battle. They will be as frightened as women. The houses in her cities will be set on fire. The gates of her cities will be broken down.

The soldiers of the Antichrist who are stationed in Babylon will become cowards. They will not come out to fight. They will hide in their houses. All of the houses in Babylon will be burned to the ground. The gates of the city will be broken down.

51:31 One runner after another will come to the king of Babylon. One messenger after another will come bringing news. They will bring news to the king of Babylon that his whole city has been captured.

The Antichrist will not be in Babylon when it is destroyed. In the first stage of the Campaign of Armageddon, the Antichrist will call his army to Israel in order to destroy the Jews.  This future movement of the Antichrist's army will leave Babylon vulnerable without an army (or with only a skeleton army). The sheep guerrilla soldiers will take advantage of this situation and attack Babylon. Messengers from Babylon will deliver the news to the Antichrist, who is stationed in Israel as the General of the anti-Israel one world army.

51:32 They will report that the fords have been captured, the reed marshes have been burned, the soldiers are terrified.

Since Babylon will be destroyed, then the Babylonian goat soldiers will be hiding in the marshes. The guerrilla sheep soldiers will set the marshes on fire in order to flush them out.

51:33 For the Lord God of Israel who rules over all says, ‘Fair Babylon will be like a threshing floor which has been trampled flat for harvest. The time for her to be cut down and harvested will come very soon.’

The time of Babylon’s threshing has arrived.

51:34 “King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon devoured me and drove my people out. Like a monster from the deep he swallowed me. He filled his belly with my riches. He made me an empty dish. He completely cleaned me out.”

Verses 34-35 give Israel’s six complaints about the crimes of King Nebuchadnezzar. First, he devoured the land of Israel by taking the land. Second, He drove the people out of Israel in a brutal way. Third, he swallowed Israel by crushing her cities into dust and debris, Fourth, he plundered Israel by taking her riches from the Temple. Fifth, he made Israel an empty dish by deporting the people out of Israel. Sixth, he completely cleaned Israel out by removing the people, the livestock, and the plunder to Babylon.

51:35 The person who lives in Zion says, “May Babylon pay for the violence done to me and to my relatives.”Jerusalem says, “May those living in Babylonia pay for the bloodshed of my people.”

Israel the wife will complain to her husband Jehovah once again. She will ask her husband to make Babylon pay for the violence which Babylon will cause upon her family.

51:36 Therefore the Lord says, “I will stand up for your cause. I will pay the Babylonians back for what they have done to you. I will dry up their sea. I will make their springs run dry.

In verses 36-40, God the husband answers the request of Israel His wife. He states that He will take revenge upon Babylon, but not immediately. He will take revenge at the end of the Great Tribulation. He will dry up the Euphrates River. This event is recorded as part of the Campaign of Armageddon in Revelation 16.

51:37 Babylon will become a heap of ruins. Jackals will make their home there. It will become an object of horror and of hissing scorn, a place where no one lives.

Babylon will become a heap of unusable building supplies. The “jackals” are demons who will be imprisoned in Babylon during the Millennial Kingdom. During the Millennial Kingdom, Babylon will become an object lesson to the rest of the world. No human will live there. People will not pass through Babylon. People will hiss at Babylon, because of her past evil influence upon world history.

51:38 The Babylonians are all like lions roaring for prey. They are like lion cubs growling for something to eat.

The Babylonians will roar for prey, but they are actually like lion cubs. They will be hungry and powerless to feed themselves.

51:39 When their appetites are all stirred up, I will set out a banquet for them. I will make them drunk so that they will pass out, they will fall asleep forever, they will never wake up,” says the Lord.

Belshazzar lost his kingdom when he brought the temple utensils into a drunken orgy. The Babylon of the future will become drunk as well, causing her to lose her dominion to the Median-led confederacy. History will repeat itself in a divine way.

51:40 “I will lead them off to be slaughtered like lambs, rams, and male goats.”

Lambs, rams, and goats do not resist slaughter. The future Babylonians will be slaughtered like livestock.

51:41 “See how Babylon has been captured! See how the pride of the whole earth has been taken! See what an object of horror Babylon has become among the nations!

Babylon is “the mother of harlots.”  She will become a terror who intoxicates herself by the blood of the martyrs. She will be displayed as a filthy and dangerous prostitute to the nations.

51:42 The sea has swept over Babylon. She has been covered by a multitude of its waves.

The floods in Scripture are usually symbols of a military invasions. Babylon will be swept away by the military invasion of the Gentile sheep confederacy.

51:43 The towns of Babylonia have become heaps of ruins. She has become a dry and barren desert. No one lives in those towns any more. No one even passes through them.

Babylon will become a city of broken rocks and timber. While the rest of the world returns to the lush vegetation conditions of the original Garden of Eden, Babylon and Edom will become dry and barren deserts. No one will live in these two areas. No one will even travel through these two barren areas. These two burning cities will become object lessons to those who live during the Millennial Kingdom.

51:44 I will punish the god Bel in Babylon. I will make him spit out what he has swallowed. The nations will not come streaming to him any longer. Indeed, the walls of Babylon will fall.”

Bel was the key demonic god of the Babylonians. He will swallow up Israel, but he will find her distasteful. He will vomit her out of his stomach. Israel will make him fatally sick. During the Great Tribulation, nations flocked to this economic center of the world. After the walls of Babylon fall down, no one will ever visit Babylon again.

51:45 “Get out of Babylon, my people! Flee to save your lives from the fierce anger of the Lord!

Verses 45-49 record the future fall of Babylon. “My people” is Israel. The future Jews again are commanded to leave Babylon. They will not be saved, just because they are Jews. Those Jews in Pharaoh’s Egypt who did not place blood on their doors were destroyed by the Death Angel. Those Jews who remain in Babylon will be destroyed within the city.

51:46 Do not lose your courage or become afraid because of the reports that are heard in the land. For a report will come in one year. Another report will follow it in the next. There will be violence in the land with ruler fighting against ruler.”

During the Great Tribulation, all of the nations will be involved in civil wars between the Sheep Gentiles and the Goat Gentiles. The future Jews in Israel are not to show fear over these reports.

51:47 “So the time will certainly come when I will punish the idols of Babylon. Her whole land will be put to shame. All her mortally wounded will collapse in her midst.

Jehovah explained to His wife Israel that Babylon will be judged, but not until the Great Tribulation. When Babylon is judged, then her whole land will be put to shame. Everyone in the entire city will die. The entire city will collapse and became a large heap of ruins. This judgment will not be temporary, but eternal.

51:48 Then heaven and earth and all that is in them will sing for joy over Babylon. For destroyers from the north will attack it,” says the Lord.

The angels in heaven, the saints in heaven, and the believers on earth will all sing for joy when Babylon is destroyed. The destroyers from the north are the Sheep Gentiles from Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Armenia, Germany, and the Baltic states. Revelation 18:20 also records this future rejoicing.

51:49 “Babylon must fall because of the Israelites she has killed, just as the earth’s mortally wounded fell because of Babylon.

Babylon must fall because of her treatment of the Jews. Babylon violated the Abrahamic Covenant, so she will experience the kind-for-kind curse as her judgment.

51:50 You who have escaped the sword, go, do not delay. Remember the Lord in a faraway land. Think about Jerusalem.

Verses 50-53 recorded a future message to the Jewish exiles who escape the destruction of future Babylon. The message is to remember what Jehovah did for them. They are to to go to Jerusalem and encourage the other Jews who are being attacked by the Antichrist.

This message takes place during and before the fourth, fifth, and sixth stages of the Campaign of Armageddon. The fourth stage will be the attack on Jerusalem by the Antichrist. The fifth stage will be the national regeneration of Israel. The sixth stage will be the return of the Lord Jesus Christ at Petra.

51:51 ‘We are ashamed because we have been insulted. Our faces show our disgrace. For foreigners have invaded the holy rooms in the Lord’s temple.’

The Hebrew word for “ashamed” is בּוּשׁ (bosh), meaning to be ashamed, confused, confounded, and dejected. Confusion and dejection will set upon Israel. The Antichrist will take over the Jewish Temple. He will desecrated it. He will claim to be God himself. The future Jews will be confused as to why God would allow this to happen.

51:52 Yes, but the time will certainly come,” says the Lord, “when I will punish her idols. Throughout her land the mortally wounded will groan.

God answers their questions and concerns of confusion. His answer will be that He did allow the temple to be desecrated, but Babylon is mortally wounded and will die. All idols will be destroyed from Babylon forever.

51:53 Even if Babylon climbs high into the sky and fortifies her elevated stronghold, I will send destroyers against her,” says the Lord.

Even if Babylon had the ability to climb up to heaven and gain the high ground and fortify her city, then she would still be utterly destroyed.

51:54 Cries of anguish will come from Babylon, the sound of great destruction from the land of the Babylonians.

When the Babylonians are mortally wounded, their cries of pain will be heard in the surrounding cities.

51:55 For the Lord is ready to destroy Babylon, and put an end to her loud noise. Their waves will roar like turbulent waters. They will make a deafening noise.

Babylon’s cup of wrath will become full. God will be ready to move in and destroy Babylon. He will put an end to the noises of crying in the city. The waves are symbols of a northern military innovation which will destroy the city. This military will make loud noises as they destroy Babylon.

51:56 For a destroyer is attacking Babylon. Her warriors will be captured; their bows will be broken. For the Lord is a God who punishes; he pays back in full.

Notice that the destroyer is singular. This destroyer will be the Median leader who will lead the confederate nations against Babylon

51:57 “I will make her officials and wise men drunk, along with her governors, leaders, and warriors. They will fall asleep forever and never wake up,” says the King whose name is the Lord who rules over all.

Just as historical Babylon fell from the drunkenness of Belshazzar, so will the future Babylon fall because of the drunkenness of her leaders. They will be so drunk with the blood of martyrs, that they will not recognize their own imminent destruction.

51:58 This is what the Lord who rules over all says, “Babylon’s thick wall will be completely demolished. Her high gates will be set on fire. The peoples strive for what does not satisfy. The nations grow weary trying to get what will be destroyed.”

Historical Babylon’s walls were not destroyed. Her gates were not set on fire. This prophecy looks forward to the future Babylon of the Great Tribulation.

51:59 This is the order Jeremiah the prophet gave to Seraiah son of Neriah, son of Mahseiah, when he went to King Zedekiah of Judah in Babylon during the fourth year of his reign. (Seraiah was a quartermaster.)

Seriah was the brother of Baruch. Baruch was Jeremiah’s scribe who wrote this book. Since this was the fourth year of King Zedekiah’s reign, then this prophecy of Jeremiah 50-51 was written in 594 or 593 B.C. This means that this prophecy was written before Judah went into captivity. Jeremiah predicted that Judah would go into the Babylonian Captivity, but Babylon would not be finally judged until the end of the Great Tribulation.

Liberals like to late-date the prophecies of Jeremiah so that they can avoid the supernatural text of Scripture. They must spiritualize passages like this one in order to make it fit their own personal false theology. They must elevate their own human opinions above that of the inspired, inerrant, and infallible written Word of God. This is literary bias, but literary bias is a weapon of the false religious leaders of the satanic world system. Many unbelievers and carnal Christians will place their faith in these liberal scholars rather than in the written Word of God.

51:60 Jeremiah recorded on one scroll all the judgments that would come upon Babylon—all these prophecies written about Babylon.

Jeremiah 60-61 was written on one scroll.

51:61 Then Jeremiah said to Seraiah, “When you arrive in Babylon, make sure you read aloud all these prophecies.

Seraiah went to Babylon and read the prophecies of Jeremiah 50-51.

51:62 Then say, ‘O Lord, you have announced that you will destroy this place so that no people or animals live in it any longer. Certainly it will lie desolate forever!’

Seraiah went to the Jews in Babylon and announced that this city would be destroyed forever. No humans or animals would ever live in the city. This means that the jackals, ostriches, and wildcats are not animals, but demons who possess these animal characteristics.

51:63 When you finish reading this scroll aloud, tie a stone to it and throw it into the middle of the Euphrates River.

After Seraiah reads the prophecy, he will tie a stone to the scroll and throw it into the Euphrates River.

51:64 Then say, ‘In the same way Babylon will sink and never rise again because of the judgments I am ready to bring upon her; they will grow faint.’ ” The prophecies of Jeremiah end here.

Just as the scroll sank in the water never to rise again, so will Babylon sink and never rise again. When Cyrus conquered historical Babylon, he did not destroy the city. Humans and beasts still lived in Babylon. Babylon will rise again during the Great Tribulation, but she will be destroyed. She will become a continuing burning wasteland. No human or animals will live there. Demons will be imprisoned there for 1,000 years.

Notice that the prophecies of Jeremiah end here.” This means that Jeremiah did not write Jeremiah 52. It was most likely written by Baruch, the scribe of Jeremiah. Chapter 52 is a part of the Book of Jeremiah, but it was written by an unknown author. It is still part of the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God.
