For Solomon.

Psalm 72 is the last song of Book II, or the Exodus Psalms. This song was written by King David for his son Solomon.

72:1 O God, grant the king the ability to make just decisions! Grant the king’s son the ability to make fair decisions!

David asked God to grant the new King Solomon the ability to make divine viewpoint decisions. This prayer was answered when Solomon asked God to give him wisdom.

72:2 Then he will judge your people fairly, and your oppressed ones equitably.

A king with strong Bible doctrine possesses the ability to make divine viewpoint decisions for his people. Political leaders who are ignorant of Bible doctrine will make human viewpoint decisions which aide the satanic world system.

Liberalism has infected most of the organized political parties of the satanic world system. Liberalism is nothing but disguised satanism. A moderate is nothing but a liberal who does not have the courage to admit that he is a liberal. A liberal often disguises himself as a moderate in an attempt to secure more votes and gain more political power. A biblically-ignorant electorate will vote liberals and moderates into office. They will eventually be judged and enslaved by the liberals that they place into office. God gives the liberal electorate the type of liberal government in which they deserve.

72:3 The mountains will bring news of peace to the people, and the hills will announce justice.

David now looks past Solomon and to the righteous King Messiah of the Millennial Kingdom. During the Millennial Kingdom, all of creation will praise the Messiah as King.

72:4 He will defend the oppressed among the people; he will deliver the children of the poor and crush the oppressor.

The oppressor is the Antichrist. King Messiah will crush the Antichrist and bring the oppressed believers into the Millennial Kingdom.

72:5 People will fear you as long as the sun and moon remain in the sky, for generation after generation.

Fear means respect and worship. King Messiah is not feared and respected now, but He will be during the Millennial Kingdom.

72:6 He will descend like rain on the mown grass, like showers that drench the earth.

King Messiah will descend upon the Millennial King and cause it to sprout, just as rain descends upon mown grass and causes it to sprout.

72:7 During his days the godly will flourish; peace will prevail as long as the moon remains in the sky.

During the days of the Messiah, the godly will flourish. All business, education, art, literature, music, video, and entertainment will glorify King Messiah. Satan will be bound for 1,000 literal years, so there will no longer be any more war.

72:8 May he rule from sea to sea, and from the Euphrates River to the ends of the earth!

King Solomon ruled from the Nile to the Euphrates. King Messiah will rule from the Euphrates River to the ends of the earth. King Messiah will rule over a one-world global messianic government.

It is interesting to note that the public education system of the satanic world system teaches against monarchy and theocratic types of governments. It is true that these type of governments will not work in the satanic world system, because the leaders are just as totally depraved and evil as the people whom they rule. Democracies, republics, socialists, and communist governments will not work for the same reasons. Absolute power corrupts absolutely in all forms of government, including democracies and republics. For example, if five evil men are appointed to the Supreme Court for life, then the American government will be controlled by these five evil men until one of them dies and is replaced by a righteous judge. If the electorate is evil, then they will elect evil representatives in their governments.

A monarchy and theocracy is the very best government if it is run by a perfect and righteous individual. If a perfect and righteous individual exists, then there is no need for elected governmental leaders. The perfect individual can establish the perfect laws, perfect justice system, and perfect government. Since King Messiah is the perfect individual, then the very best government in the world is a theocracy run by the One who has the wisdom and divine nature of God, but also the human experiences of man. The Lord Jesus Christ will establish the perfect government on earth, because He possesses the divine attributes of God and the experiences of man.

72:9 Before him the coastlands will bow down, and his enemies will lick the dust.

During the Millennial Kingdom, all of the coastlands of the earth will bow down to King Messiah. The enemies will lick the dust, meaning that they will surrender to King Messiah.

72:10 The kings of Tarshish and the coastlands will offer gifts; the kings of Sheba and Seba will bring tribute.

During the Millennial Kingdom, there will be Gentile kings who will pay tribute to King Messiah. The kings of Spain, Arabia, and Egypt will bring gifts to King Messiah.

72:11 All kings will bow down to him; all nations will serve him.

During the Millennial Kingdom, King Messiah will become the King of kings and Lord of lords over all of the nations of the earth.

72:12 For he will rescue the needy when they cry out for help, and the oppressed who have no defender.

King Messiah will rescue the Jewish and Gentile believers from the Antichrist and bring them into the Millennial Kingdom.

72:13 He will take pity on the poor and needy; the lives of the needy he will save.

During the Great Tribulation, the Antichrist will usurp the economic system and bring global poverty upon the earth. King Messiah will rescue the Jewish and Gentile believers from this evil global economic system.

72:14 From harm and violence he will defend them; he will value their lives.

During the Great Tribulation, the Antichrist will attempt to exterminate the Jews and Christians. King Messiah will allow some to become martyred, but He will bring all of them into the Millennial Kingdom.

72:15 May he live! May they offer him gold from Sheba! May they continually pray for him! May they pronounce blessings on him all day long!

Since King Messiah is both God and man, then He will live for eternity. During the Millennial Kingdom, the Gentile nations will bring Him gifts. The Gentiles will be blessed by King Messiah.

72:16 May there be an abundance of grain in the earth; on the tops of the mountains may it sway! May its fruit trees flourish like the forests of Lebanon! May its crops be as abundant as the grass of the earth!

During the Millennial Kingdom, the earth will return to its Garden of Eden conditions.

72:17 May his fame endure! May his dynasty last as long as the sun remains in the sky! May they use his name when they formulate their blessings! May all nations consider him to be favored by God!

During the Millennial Kingdom, King Messiah will be famous, as He will be known throughout all of the world. His dynasty will last for 1,000 literal years. The name of King Messiah will be used in all matters. All nations will worship King Messiah.

72:18 The Lord God, the God of Israel, deserves praise! He alone accomplishes amazing things!

The God of Israel is the only true God, so He alone deserves praise. He is the only God, so He is the only One who can accomplish divine miracles through His omnipotence.

72:19 His glorious name deserves praise forevermore! May his majestic splendor fill the whole earth! We agree! We agree!

The God of Israel deserves to be praised for eternity. The Shechinah Glory will fill the whole earth. All of the inhabitants on the earth will agree that the God of Israel should be praised.

72:20 This collection of the prayers of David son of Jesse ends here.

Book II, The Exodus section of the Psalms, ends with Psalm 72. Many (not all) of David’s psalms were categorized in Book II. He has at least 18 more songs scattered throughout the remainder of the Psalms. All of these psalms show why david was "a man after God's own heart". This verse means that David was after the mind of Christ. The mind of Christ can only be found through the deep study of Bible doctrine from the entire counsel of the Word of God.
