97:1 The Lord reigns! Let the earth be happy! Let the many coastlands rejoice!
During the Millennial Kingdom, the Messianic King will reign. The earth will no longer be sad, but happy. In modern culture, man is so sad, that he pays comedians millions of dollars just to make him laugh. All of the coastlands (including the United States) will rejoice when the Messianic King arrives on earth. All of the coastlands will want to be rescued from the liberal governmental policies of the Antichrist.
97:2 Dark clouds surround him; equity and justice are the foundation of his throne.
When the Messianic King arrives, dark clouds will accompany Him. His government will be built upon equity and judgment. He will not allow evil men to walk on His earth.
97:3 Fire goes before him; on every side it burns up his enemies.
When the Messianic King arrives, He will purge all evil men out of this world. He will send them to death and hell.
97:4 His lightning bolts light up the world; the earth sees and trembles.
When the Messianic King arrives, then every eye will see Him. The evil men will tremble, because the Messianic King is about to end their high standard of living during the one-world government of the Antichrist. It is important to note that man is so depraved and evil that if left alone, he will use the election process to vote the Antichrist into office.
97:5 The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of the whole earth.
During the Millennial Kingdom, the geography of the earth will be reshaped by the Messianic King.
97:6 The sky declares his justice, and all the nations see his splendor.
All of the Gentiles will see the Shechinah Glory of God.
97:7 All who worship idols are ashamed, those who boast about worthless idols. All the gods bow down before him.
During the Great Tribulation, mankind will return to the days of Noah. Idol worship will return. Behind the idols worship will be demonism and the occult. All who worship these demonic idols will be ashamed. They will be purged out of the world, because there will be no false religion in the Millennial Kingdom. Only God will be worshiped. The Hebrew word for “gods” is אֱלֹהִֽים (elohim), meaning angels. Angels will bow down and worship the Messianic King.
97:8 Zion hears and rejoices, the towns of Judah are happy, because of your judgments, O Lord.
Zion is Jerusalem. Jerusalem and Israel will rejoice when the Millennial Kingdom begins. The Messianic King will establish his capital city in Jerusalem.
Israel will be happy about the judgments of the Lord. The earth will be judged. Evil men will be purged out of the world. The world will return to its Garden of Eden conditions. Israel will be restored. The Messianic King will reign from Jerusalem, David will be made the co-regent King of Israel. The saints of Israel will receive their glorified bodies and be given their land allotments. The saints of the church will be given their glorified bodies and running the Gentile cities. There will be no more war, famine, or disease.
97:9 For you, O Lord, are the sovereign king over the whole earth; you are elevated high above all gods.
Jehovah is the sovereign King over all of the earth. He is the one who planned and executed all of history. Their will be no false gods in the Millennial Kingdom All idolatry (including atheism, agnosticism, evolutionism, feminism, cults and isms) will be non-existent in the Millennial Kingdom.
97:10 You who love the Lord, hate evil! He protects the lives of his faithful followers; he delivers them from the power of the wicked.
Those who love the Lord are those who master Bible doctrine. They hate evil. They do not conform and compromise with the satanic world system. The Messianic King will protect the lives of His followers from the power of the Antichrist. The Antichrist will be empowered by Satan himself.
97:11 The godly bask in the light; the morally upright experience joy.
The godly are those who believe in the Messianic King. They will shine in his light. They will experience joy.
97:12 You godly ones, rejoice in the Lord! Give thanks to his holy name.
The godly ones are the believers who will enter into the Millennial Kingdom. They will give thanks to the Messianic King, because His name is holy. He is set apart above all things.
