For the music director; written by the Lord’s servant, David; an oracle.
The Hebrew word for “oracle” is not in the text. The Hebrew text simply says לְדָוִֽד (la-David), meaning “to David.” David was a king, but he identified himself as “the Lord’s servant.” Most pagan kings were not this humble. This was a song which David wrote for the Levites to sing in the tabernacle and later in the temple.
36:1 An evil man is rebellious to the core. He does not fear God,
Unbelievers are totally and depraved and evil. They are rebellious and want nothing to do with God. The unbeliever does not respect God. He lives his life foolishly, as though God does not exist.
36:2 for he is too proud to recognize and give up his sin.
The unbeliever thinks that he is too smart for God. He lives his life as though God does not exist. He elevates his human intellect above that of the Bible. He sins, but he does not recognize it as sin. He calls good “bad” and “bad” good.
36:3 The words he speaks are sinful and deceitful; he does not care about doing what is wise and right.
The unbeliever speaks and teaches the false teachings of the satanic world system. This teaching is called secular humanism. It consists of evolution, feminism, global warming, liberalism, and socialism. These kinds of teachings are a sin against God and deceitful. They are doctrines of demons. The teachers of secular humanism do not care about doing what is right. They teach others to “go for the gusto,” “have it your own way,” “if it feels good, do it,” and “live and let die.” This type of teaching is nothing but satanism. This type of living is foolishness and will result in eternal damnation.
36:4 He plans ways to sin while he lies in bed; he is committed to a sinful lifestyle; he does not reject what is evil.
The secular humanist plans evil schemes when he goes to bed at night. He is committed to making money, even if it is gained in evil ways. He does not reject evil. Anyone can become a millionaire if they are willing to sell drugs, sell pornography, or assassinate others.
36:5 O Lord, your loyal love reaches to the sky; your faithfulness to the clouds.
Jehovah is different from evil men who plan evil quick-rich schemes. He possesses a loyal love which cannot be measured. The love and faithfulness of Jehovah reaches to the clouds.
36:6 Your justice is like the highest mountains, your fairness like the deepest sea; you preserve mankind and the animal kingdom.
Jehovah is a righteous and fair judge who does not take bribes. A judge who takes bribes is sending innocent people to imprisonment or death so that he can accumulate more wealth. This godless judge will not be able to take any of his material possessions of heaven. He will be judged by the Judge of judges at the Great White Throne Judgment.
Jehovah is the one who preserves man and the animal kingdom. If God left man alone, then man would totally destroy all life on earth. However, God is in control. He will not allow man to destroy himself. This means that the greedy men who are attempting to make profit on global warming schemes or doing nothing but crying out “chicken little,” such as “the sky is falling, the sky is falling.” They are hoping that biblically-ignorant people will listen to their cries and give them more money.
36:7 How precious is your loyal love, O God! The human race finds shelter under your wings.
Jehovah has promised a literal 1,000-year Millennial Kingdom, so the human race can ignore the global warmest threats. Instead, man needs to study and apply Bible doctrine at the deepest level so that they will be able to find shelter under Jehovah’s wings. God, not the capitalists behind global government, is the one who controls the weather.
36:8 They are filled with food from your house, and you allow them to drink from the river of your delicacies.
Jehovah promises food, clothing, and shelter to all who believe in Him. Those who do not believe in Jehovah must find food, clothing, and shelter from their demonic gods. If the demonic gods cannot provide them these three things, then the people need to change gods. Socialism is a doctrine of demons, because it steals from those who produce and gives to those who do not work.
36:9 For you are the one who gives and sustains life.
Jehovah gives life. It is murder for parents to commit fornication and abort the life of their innocent child in the womb. It is murder for a doctor to take the life of an innocent child for profit. It is murder for politicians to pass laws which protect the fornicators and take the life of the innocent children in the womb. God gives life. He is the only one who can take it away. Politicians are “playing God” when they pass laws to abort innocent children in the womb. According to the Word of God, abortionists are murderers who will be judged for their sins.
36:10 Extend your loyal love to your faithful followers, and vindicate the morally upright!
David asked Jehovah to extend His loyal love to His faithful followers. The faithful followers are those Jews who studied and applied Bible doctrine. Those who do not study the entire counsel of the Word of God cannot be faithful followers, because they do not know enough Bible doctrine to understand what is right and what is wrong. They think that they know Bible doctrine, but they really do not know anything spiritual unless they study it. If they have read parts of the Bible, then they are fragmented in their knowledge.
Satan knows their weaknesses and he will deceive them. This deception will be so complete, that the believer will think that his doctrine is very good, but it is actually incomplete. This type of believer will possess unbiblical study habits, attend the wrong church, think wrong about political and religious issues, and pray for the wrong things. He will spend his money on the wrong things. He will spend more time in the things of the world than he will in the things of God.
36:11 Do not let arrogant men overtake me, or let evil men make me homeless!
Arrogant men are those who elevate their own human opinion above the Word of God. Arrogant men will persecute those who know and apply Bible doctrine and think that they are serving God. Paul’s doctrine was incomplete, until he met the Lord Jesus Christ on the Road to Damascus. He was murdering Christians, thinking that he was serving God.
David asked God to protect him from these evil men. He asked that these men not take away his home. Arrogant politicians will often use tax laws to silence believers who study and apply Bible doctrine.
36:12 I can see the evildoers! They have fallen! They have been knocked down and are unable to get up!
David was able to observe the answer to his prayers. Jehovah knocked down David’s enemies. They were not able to recover.
